Here is the lab using the Alka-Seltzer and different temperature water.
I added the classic acid rain demo using a gallon size pickle jar, universal indicator and burning sulfur. I thought by adding the demo before the lab they would relate dissolving of gas to a pH change.This would allow the lab to be inquiry based and have them design the lab themselves with the given materials.
There is also an extension part in which they pull 25 mL of solution and add NaOH drop wise to compare the amount of acid formed.I thought this would be a nice introduction to titrations.
